Dental Bridges

Have you recently lost a tooth? Are you looking to replace several missing teeth in your upper and lower jaws to be able to chew normally again? If you seek a budget friendly, aesthetically appealing treatment for missing natural teeth, you should look into dental bridges. Bridges are fixed dental prostheses, or artificial teeth, that are custom fabricated for patients for functional and aesthetic dental rehabilitation. At Victoria Dental, you can get perfectly natural-looking porcelain and porcelain-fused-to-metal (PFM) bridges that will have you eating your favourite food, and smiling confidently again.

Here is what you can expect from dental bridging appointments – one natural tooth on either side of the empty socket in your mouth will be trimmed down in size to make room for the prosthesis. An impression is then taken to record all the details of the surrounding structures which aids in accurate bridge fabrication. The bridge itself is made at a dental laboratory by technicians, a process which can take a week or two. When ready, this bridge is fitted on top of the natural teeth with the help of a strong cement to ‘suspend’ the artificial crown (or crowns) over the socket. Because the trimming part of these treatment can cause sensitivity and discomfort, we first administer anaesthesia to ensure a pleasant experience for our patients.
