Injury Treatment
Dental injuries are very common, especially with people who engage in sports and other physical activities. They can also be sustained as a result of accidents, trips and falls, and direct blows to the facial region. However, if treated in a timely manner, many different complications resulting from the injury can be avoided.
Facial and dental injuries include lacerations, fractures, bleeding and inflammation, soft tissue cuts, tooth avulsion or dislodgment, and TMJ damage. At Victoria Dental, we try our best to remain available for our patients during and after office hours. If you happen to be in an accident while the clinic is open, you can come to us and your treatment will be our topmost priority. No appointment are needed for patients who have sustained facial or dental injuries. We use compression, splints, stitches, wire fixation, and re-implantation techniques to treat injuries of the teeth and the soft tissues. The sooner you can to get, the lesser will be your chances of developing complications. Prevention is always better than cure, and perhaps there is no way to avoid all accidents, the injuries can at times be minimized if individuals engaging in sports and related activities wear proper gear and mouth guards for added protection.
